SINGAPORE - Jennifer Lopez's supposedly private and luxurious US$10 million (S$12.8m) mansion in Southampton, New York, was broken into by an intruder.

The intruder, against whom Lopez already had an order of protection, lived in the US singer-actress' pool house for a week while she was away.

US police arrested John M Dubis, 49, and charged the man from Rhode Island with two felonies (burglary and criminal contempt) and two misdemeanours (stalking and possession of burglar tools). Dubis pleaded not guilty.

It is unclear how he got into Lopez's property, but neighbours reportedly thought he was one of her staff members.
