Stock-rich celebrities in Korea
Yang Hyun-suk, founder of YG Entertainment, remained the richest celebrity in Korea, with more than $222 million in listed stocks

According to chaebul.com, 15 Korean celebrities had over 100 million won (S$122,000) in stocks in their own name as of Feb 17.

Among them, six were found to own over 10 billion won in stocks.

Yang Hyun-suk, founder of YG Entertainment, remained the richest celeb, with 182.2 billion won in listed stocks, despite seeing a 4.2 per cent fall since January.

He was followed by SM Entertainment founder and chairman Lee Soo-man, who currently owns 142.7 billion won in stocks and saw an 8.1 decrease from January.

FNC Entertainment founder Han Sung-ho ranked third with 75.3 billion won, and actor Bae Yong-joon placed fourth with 73.6 billion won.

Both saw their stock prices rise compared to January. JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young, who owns 24.4 billion won in stocks, saw his holdings increase by 3.9 per cent.

Several actors and comedians also made it onto the list. Actresses Park Soon-ae and Kyeon Mi-ri ranked sixth and seventh, followed by actor Jang Dong-gun, and entertainers Kang Ho-dong and Shin Dong-yup.
