Suzy, member of K-pop girl group Miss A and girlfriend of actor Lee Min-ho, is being considered for the lead female role in an upcoming tvN drama, "Cheese in the Trap," reports said Tuesday.

A number of industry insiders said Suzy was offered the role of female protagonist Hong Seol, and that she was contemplating options at the moment. Other actresses are also being considered.

For the male lead, actor Park Hae-jin has been set to take the role since early on. Park is perhaps best known for his supporting role in the hit drama series "My Love From the Star," where he acted the lead female character's affluent friend and secret admirer.

Anticipation and speculation is mounting as to what chemistry Suzy and Park will show should they pair up in the upcoming drama.

Suzy has previously shown stable acting as lead roles in "Architecture 101," "Gu Family Book," and more.

"Cheese in the Trap," originally a web-based thriller romance cartoon under the same title, boasts a great number of accumulated fans since its launching five years ago in July 2010.

The TV series will kick off in the latter half of this year on tvN channel as a Monday-Tuesday drama.

Producer Lee Yun-jeong of the 2007 hit "The Coffee Prince" will take the megaphone.
