Taiwanese Mandopop singer-songwriter Kenji Wu, who ridiculed Katy Perry for being late for her concert in Taipei on April 28, was lambasted by her fans.

Wu, who also attended the concert, updated his status on Facebook: "Late for 30 minutes, isn't it a bit too much!"

"Would you behave like this for the Super Bowl intermission? It's nine (pm) plus and the concert has yet to start ... Taiwanese are simply too nice. Now that I have experienced this, I can't take it any more ... I'm leaving!"

However, many netizens defended Perry and said it was how western artistes conducted their concerts. Many also praised Perry for donning a sunflower dress with the Taiwan national flag during the concert.
