TV series starring Bingbing pulled off air

BEIJING - A TV series starring a cleavage-baring Fan Bingbing has been been pulled off the air in China.

It has crossed some boundaries, NetEase quoted an industry insider as telling Chongqing Evening News after it was revealed on the Hunan TV online forum that another show will be re- run to fill the series' time slot last night and tonight.

The Empress Of China, in which Fan plays Tang empress Wu Zetian, has led in ratings since it started airing on Dec 21.

The Hunan TV show's costumes and sets as well as the actresses' remarkably fair complexions and cleavage displays in Tang-era style of dressing have set fans abuzz.

"Is this drama made by using a selfie photo enhancer? Everyone's skin looks fair and polished," wrote a fan online.

A TV still shows Fan baring her shoulders and bathing in a pool with veteran actor Zhang Fengyi, who plays Emperor Taizong. Aarif Lee plays a prince who later becomes Wu's husband, the emperor Gaozong.

The insider said the show is being edited before being re-sent for clearance by the authorities.

An explanation on the Hunan TV Weibo says the show will resume next month because of technical problems.
