TAIPEI - Pop star Vic Chou finally won Best Actor at the Golden Bell Awards last Friday, but don't call that his "revenge" on former rival Mark Chao.

The Black & White co-stars were famously said to have fallen out after newbie Chao beat him to the Best Actor prize at the same awards in 2009.

But after winning for the drama Home last Friday, Chou told Apple Daily Taiwan: "Don't press the issue anymore. We have all suffered."

But he admitted: "We're not in touch with each other. We're not friends." Still, he said, "I like to act with good actors. He is definitely one of them".

Last Friday, he gave a deep bow before accepting his prize at the Taiwanese Emmys. He thanked his agents, saying: "I was so immersed in the role that I was not eating. One of them also starved with me and landed in hospital. The other ate up my food and gained 3kg."

In Home, Chou, 32, shed his idol image to play a World War II prisoner of war who tries to seek the meaning of life and love. The F4 member becomes the first one in his band to win a Best Actor prize. His co-star Li Li-ren, who is TV host Matilda Tao's husband, won for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama.

Miao Ke-li was crowned Best Actress for playing the daughter of an Alzheimer's patient who reunites with his family in the drama Flavor Of Life.

Falling, about a young woman searching for true love, won for Best TV Series. Chang Hsiao-yen and Mickey Huang were named Best Variety Show Hosts while Bowie Tsang won as best host for a comprehensive programme.
