Getting married was one of the best things to happen to Taiwanese-American singer-actor Wang Lee Hom last year.
The 37-year-old said before the Celebrate TV50 at The Float @ Marina Bay on Tuesday: "It is one of the best moments of the year. I have a lot to be thankful for.
"My wife is here as well tonight. Being able to celebrate the New Year with her and my fans in Singapore is like having the best of both worlds."
Wang had sprung several surprises last year, including announcing his relationship followed by his marriage last November to Columbia University doctoral student Li Jinglei, 27.
He said: "That's the good thing about social media - I can share a lot of things with my fans. It is a clean and more direct platform for me to communicate with them."
Doing his New Year countdown on stage has become a ritual for Wang, who said he has been doing it for the past 20 years.
"It's my ideal way of spending New Year's Eve. There is no way other than performing on stage," he said.
Wang has no plans to slow down this year, saying he will only get busier with a new album in the making and more movie projects.
He said: "I spent quite some time on my personal stuff last year, and they are all settled now.
