Watch my movie with an open mind: Arya

SINGAPORE - After the hit fantasy-adventure movie Aayirathil Oruvan, Tamil film director Selvaraghavan has followed it up with Irandam Ulagam - a tale of love which unfolds concurrently in two different planets - earth and an unnamed exoplanet, a planet that is outside the solar system.

The hero of this film, Arya, was in Singapore on Nov 29 to promote this movie and interact with his fans. He was bubbly and jovial - exactly the way he portrays himself on film - and had a friendly personailty.

He said the current movie Irandam Ulagam was a fascinating story with a lot of twists and turns in the plot. Arya plays the role of a mathematician and the son of a military commander, who lives in an alternate world. Actress Anushka Shetty plays his love interest in the film.

"People should come to watch this film with an open mind and without any expectations. It's basically a magical fantasy," he said. Did he face challenges in the movie?

He smiled and said: "Except for working out for my six-pack, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment of the film."

Arya recently worked with Ajith in the recently-released Arambam. He said the legendary hero motivated him.

"It's quite common for young heroes like me to act with a legend like Ajith in the same scene. But Ajith was encouraging and had no issues sharing his screen space. This enabled me to act even better."

Arya, who has acted in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films and worked closely with many various directors, said that his favourite director is Vishnuvardhan.

Arya visited both Golden Theatre at Beach Road and Rex Cinemas and also found time to meet his fans.
