West gets probation for hitting paparazzo

Kanye West has pleaded no contest to one count of battery in a lawsuit filed against him by a paparazzo who was involved in a scuffle with the 36-year-old US rapper at Los Angeles International Airport last year.

West was given 24 months' probation and ordered to do 240 hours of community service.

He must also complete 24 sessions of an anger management programme and turn himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department for a formal booking.
