‘No curry, just me’ at outlet disguised as eatery

IT was a different kind of "dish" that was served at an entertainment outlet in Kuala Lumpur, Harian Metro reported.

A sign outside the premises said it was a fish head curry restaurant but the foreign women serving there were not offering any meals - only themselves.

A 12.45am police raid at the place on Tuesday netted 27 Vietnamese women working there as guest relations officers (GROs).

"Investigations revealed that not only do the women entertain customers, but they can be taken home for sexual services for RM500 a night," said Bukit Aman D7 (secret societies, vice and gambling) operations head Asst Supt Shahrulnizam Jaafar.

He said the entertainment outlet was unlicensed.

"Of the 27 women, only nine had passports while the rest did not have any identification," he said. The owner of the premises, a 38-year-old local man, was also arrested.

In a separate raid by the Kuala Lumpur D7 enforcers at another entertainment outlet in Jalan Bayam, Cheras, 11 Thai GROs were nabbed, together with a male Thai singer and a florist who is a Chinese national.

The flower shop was the front for the joint.
