10-car accident along PIE after Payar Lebar exit

SINGAPORE - A crash involving at least 10 cars took place on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Feb 19, the first day of Chinese New Year.

At about 6.21pm, AsiaOne witnessed slow-moving traffic till the Paya Lebar exit towards Changi Airport. The PIE was congested on the accident side, where the traffic jam went past the Eunos exit towards Tuas.

AsiaOne saw 10 cars, two police vehicles and at least one ambulance.

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman told The Straits Times that four people were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital with minor injuries.

The Land Transport Authority also alerted followers of their official Twitter account of the traffic congestion after Paya Lebar Road to Jalan Eunos, advising motorists to avoid driving in the first lane.
