11 arrested for drug offences in 12-hour joint enforcement operation

A statement on Wednesday said that officers from the Singapore Police Force and the Central Narcotics Bureau carried out checks in public housing estates in Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Serangoon and Sengkang.

11 persons were arrested in a 12-hour joint enforcement operation that commenced on 3 December 2013 at 10am.

The operation was jointly-led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Central Narcotics Bureau Supervision F Division, and also involved officers from other units in the Singapore Police Force and the Central Narcotics Bureau.

During the 12-hour joint enforcement operation, checks were conducted at public housing estates in Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Serangoon and Sengkang. A total of 11 persons were arrested for drug-related offences. Some drugs including one tablet of Erimin 5, three packets and 10 straws of Heroin weighing approximately 10.3 g were seized as case exhibits.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police Keok Tong San, expressed his appreciation to the agencies involved. He commended the officers for their excellent teamwork and coordination which led to the successful joint operation.

He added, "The Police will continue to work closely with our enforcement counterparts to eradicate criminal activities and keep our streets safe."
