12,700 employers on national Jobs Bank after launch in July

SINGAPORE - Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin said on Tuesday that, as of September, 12,700 employers are registered with the national Jobs Bank, with 80 per cent posting job vacancies actively.

He revealed that number in a written reply to Ms Lee Bee Wah, one of the MPs in the Nee Soon GRC, who asked in Parliament what the Government was doing to promote awareness of the Jobs Bank among employers and to improve the Jobs Bank's effectiveness in helping Singaporeans becoming employed.

Mr Tan said that the Jobs Bank had received "encouraging response from employers" since its launch in July.

He also said that the Workforce Development Agency will continue to work with industry groups and unions "to drive the adoption and use of Jobs Bank among employers for their hiring needs".
