SINGAPORE - A 14-year-old boy believed to be responsible for at least two cases of outrage of modesty in the Woodlands public housing estate has been arrested by the police.
The two victims had both lodged reports on the same day that they were molested by a male subject in his teens.
A task force comprising of officers from different units in Jurong Police Division was formed to work on the cases, given the similar descriptions of the suspect and the proximity of the reported cases.
The identity of the suspect was eventually established.
On May 5 at about 3.15 pm, the subject was arrested in the vicinity of Bedok North St 3 and brought back to Jurong Police Division for investigations.
Investigations against the suspect are still ongoing.
The offence of outrage of modesty under carries an imprisonment term of up to 2 years; or fine, or caning.
