16 arrested in anti-drug blitz

SINGAPORE - 16 people were arrested in a 17-hour joint enforcement operation that commenced from 9am on Dec 9.
The operation, jointly led by Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) "F" Division, also involved officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
Officers conducted checks at public entertainment outlets and public housing estates in Ang Mo Kio, Yishun, Hougang, Punggol and Sengkang and arrested a total of 16 people for drug-related offences.
A public entertainment outlet was also found to have breached the Public Entertainment and Liquor Licensing Conditions while another five outlets were found to have breached the Fire Safety Rules and Regulations.
Investigations against those arrested are on-going.
