SINGAPORE - Police have arrested 17 women, age between 20 and 36 years, in an operation at a public entertainment outlet in the vicinity of Newton Road.
The women were arrested for unlawful employment offences, as well as offences under the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Chapter 184, said a police press release.
Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
The six-hour operation was carried out by Tanglin Police Division.
The operation is part of ongoing police enforcement efforts to deter and detect criminal activities at entertainment outlets, and serves as a warning that those who engage in illicit activities will be dealt with in accordance to the law.
