2 arrested for assaulting and robbing victim of mobile phone

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a male and female suspect, both aged 20, for their suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt at Woodlands Ave 6.

A 25-year-old male victim was assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone by the two suspects on Nov 24 at 9.35pm.

Through ground enquiries, police officers managed to establish the identities of the pair and arrested them at Jurong East Central.

Preliminary investigations suggested that the duo is believed to be involved in another case of snatch theft.

They will be charged in court tomorrow for robbery with hurt, which carries a jail term of five to 20 years, and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
