2 arrested for loanshark harassment

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two male suspects, aged 15 and 20, for loanshark harassment.

Police officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested the 15-year-old and the 20-year-old suspects at Jurong West Street 81 and Marsiling Drive respectively on Monday at about 9am.

Preliminary investigations indicate that both suspects had committed loanshark harassment together in Ang Mo Kio and Punggol by locking the gates of debtors units with bicycle locks and splashing paint.

Both suspects will be charged in Court on April 1 for loanshark harassment. If found guilty, they may be fined up to $50,000 each, be jailed up to five years and caned up to six strokes.
