SINGAPORE - The police have arrested a 32-year-old male and a 35-year-old female for their suspected involvement in a series of shop theft cases.

On July 31, officers from the Central Police Division and the Clementi Police Division spotted the two suspects behaving suspiciously in a shopping mall at Harbourfront Walk and conducted a check on them.

An assortment of apparels was found in their possession. Preliminary investigations revealed that the apparels were believed to have been stolen from different stores.

The two suspects were immediately arrested, and the stolen items worth $284 were recovered.

If convicted of shop theft, the suspects will face a jail term of up to seven years, or a fine, or both.
