202 mooncakes made onboard cable cars for S'pore record title

SINGAPORE - Singapore Cable Car entered the Singapore Book of Records this evening for conquering a sky-high challenge.

Two-hundred and two mooncakes were molded and made in flight over a distance of 1.7km onboard the attraction, earning Singapore Cable Car the title of "Most Number of Mooncakes Made Onboard Singapore Cable Car."

The cableway is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and invited 49 families to take a 30-minute moon-lit flight from Faber Peak Singapore, across the Sentosa-HarbourFront precinct to Sentosa Island and back.

The record-making feat involved a total of 45 cabins, each carrying a family of four who received a reunion kit with tools and ingredients to make the mooncakes.

"My family enjoyed the process of making mooncakes together and because we won't do it at home, it was a very good family bonding activity for us," said Mrs Angelia Yang, who attended the event with her husband and two children.
