23 arrested for criminal and drug offences in 17-hour joint enforcement blitz

A 17-hour joint enforcement operation has led to 23 people being arrested for crime and drug-related offences.

Approximately 30g of cannabis and a small amount of Ice and heroin, as well as 41 packets of contraband cigarettes were seized.

The operation by the Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Customs started yesterday morning at 7am. Checks were conducted in Yishun, Sengkang, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio and Sembawang.

Investigations against the subjects arrested are ongoing.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr Keok Tong San said: "The police and our enforcement counterparts will continue to work closely to eradicate criminal activities and keep our streets safe."
