23-year-old jailed for jogger's death; found to be driving at 174kmh

A district court heard that Seet Zhi Yang was trying to overtake a motorcycle from his left side when he lost control. The car veered off the road before mounting the kerb, continued to move and hit the Gurkha, Sergeant Gir Prasad Roka, who was flung onto the bonnet and windscreen of the car and into the air before he struck a tree and fell to the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
