24 people to be charged for Little India riot

SINGAPORE - In an 8.45am update, a police statement said as of Dec 10, 2013 at 3.20am, further investigations revealed that two more male subjects, one Indian National and one Singaporean PR, were not involved in the riot at Little India on Dec 8, 2013.
This brings down the total number of persons to be charged for the incident to 24.
All of them are Indian Nationals.
The four subjects who were not involved in the incident have since been released from Police custody.
In response to media queries on the Little India riot, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman said:
"24 persons will be charged in Court at 2.30pm today for their involvement in the Little India riot. MFA is working closely with the Indian High Commissioner to facilitate consular access and support for their nationals, including legal representation."
