24-year-old serial housebreaker arrested

SINGAPORE - A 24-year-old man will appear in court tomorrow for his suspected involvement in a series of trespass and housebreaking cases around Stevens Road, Moulmein Road and Upper Thomson Road.

The police said in a statement today that they have been receiving reports of trespassing into private residential properties since March 2015.

The suspect's modus operandi would be to climb the perimeter walls. Cash and mobile phones were reported stolen in some cases.

The identity of the suspect was established and he was subsequently arrested on May 5.

For the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, the man can face a maximum imprisonment term of 14 years.
