29th man convicted in underage hooker case

SINGAPORE - A former assistant engineer with the Republic of Singapore Air Force was jailed for nine weeks yesterday for commercial sex with an underage escort, the 29th man to be convicted in a long-running online vice case involving 51 men.

Goh Wee Seong, 35, now a courier delivery driver, admitted to paying $500 for the sexual services of the 17-year-old at Hotel 81 Bencoolen in October 2010, reported The Straits Times.

Goh's lawyer S. Radakrishnan said his client suffered from depression. Goh could have been jailed for up to seven years and/or fined for paid sex with a person below 18 years old.

So far, 28 others have been jailed between eight weeks and six months for having paid sex with the girl in the online vice ring case.
