3 arrested for attempting to rob taxi driver at cemetery

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two men and a woman, aged between 21 and 22, for injuring and attempting to rob a taxi driver at Lim Chu Kang Chinese Cemetery.

The 56-year-old victim said that he was injured by three people who had attempted to rob him in his taxi on May 14.

Officers arrested the suspects at Jalan Boon Lay within four hours of receiving the report.

The suspects will be charged on May 15 for armed robbery with hurt.  If convicted, each of them will face between five to twenty years in jail, and a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.
