3 teenagers arrested for snatch theft

SINGAPORE - Three young men, aged between 14 and 18, have been arrested by the police for a case of snatch theft.

At about 7am on Oct 26, the three suspects had approached two men to sell a mobile phone. This occurred at the void deck of Blk 225 Petir Road.

When one of the victims took out his cash, the suspects pushed him from behind, snatched his money and took off in different directions.

The victims then gave chase while shouting for help. A member of the public heard them shouting and helped detain the 18-year-old suspect at Blk 217 Petir Road.

$80 worth of cash was recovered.

Police followed up with investigations and subsequently arrested the remaining suspects on Oct 27.

If convicted, the suspects may face a maximum jail term of seven years and may also be caned.
