SINGAPORE - Police have arrested three youths, aged between 17 and 18, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motorcycle.
On Apr 21, police received a report regarding a motorcycle that had been stolen from an open carpark along Jurong West Street 93.
Officers from the Jurong Police Division carried out extensive ground enquires and investigations which led to the arrest of one suspect.
Police had spotted the suspect travelling on the possibly stolen motorcycle along Jurong West Avenue 2 on the night of Apr 30.
Through further investigations, the officers established the identities of the two other suspects and arrested them on the same night.
If convicted, each faces a maximum jail term of seven years and shall also be liable to a fine.
Investigations against the remaining suspect are ongoing.
Police would like to remind motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
• Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;
• Remove the ignition key and lock the motorcycle whenever it is left unattended, even if it is only for short while;
• Install an anti-theft alarm; and
• Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks on your motorcycle.
