SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for a case of armed robbery at International Rd.
On June 26 at about 1am, a young couple was walking along the road when two male strangers confronted them with a sharp object. The duo robbed the victims of a wallet and mobile phone before fleeing off on their bicycles.
Upon receiving the report, police officers conducted extensive ground enquiries and follow up investigations. A 37-year-old suspect was arrested on October 8 at about 2.30pm in the vicinity of Benoi Sector. Police also managed to recover the stolen mobile phone.
The Police said that efforts are under-way to track down his accomplice.
The suspect will be charged in Court on Oct 10. If found guilty, he can be sentenced to a prison term of up to 14 years. He is also liable to caning of no less than 12 strokes.
