387 Home Team officers commended at National Day awards ceremony

387 Home Team officers were awarded at an annual presentation ceremony that commends outstanding Home Team officers for their competency and commitment to making Singapore a safer nation to live, work and play in.

The Investiture of the National Day Awards for the Ministry of Home Affairs held on Nov 12 was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean.

Among the recipients were 234 individuals who received the Long Service Medal and another 31 who received the Long Service Medal (Police), each representing 25 years of substantial dedication towards keeping Singapore safe and secure.

In addition to the Long Service Medal, Home Team officers across nine agencies also received the Commendation Medal and Efficiency Medal. In addition, the SCDF Overseas Service Medal was also presented at the event.

The commendation is in line with the Ministry of Home Affairs' efforts to pay tribute to Home Team's partners and officers. The Home Team keeps Singapore safe and secure through its harnessing of synergy across the different agencies to achieve significant outcomes in busting drug syndicates, arresting immigration offenders, rehabilitating inmates, responding to medical and fire emergencies as well as combating crime.
