39 Delhi schools found to have unjustified fee hikes

In the seventh report of the Justice Anil Dev Singh Committee for the review of school fees, 39 elite schools in Delhi were found to have raised fees unjustifiably after 2009, and have been asked to refund the fees along with a 9 per cent interest.

Set up in 2011, the panel has examined the financial records of 811 out of 1,172 private schools so far, but only five out of the 330 schools instructed to refund fees between 2011 and May 2014 have followed the committee's directions.
