The Pekanbaru Police arrested four police officers who were allegedly crystal meth dealers and two other civilians who were their couriers.
The four were caught following the arrest of Brig. Tukiman and the confiscation of packages of drugs and several other pieces of evidence from him on Monday.
Spokesman for the Riau Provincial Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Aryo Tedjo said on Tuesday that Tukiman was a fugitive and had been recommended by the police's ethics council to be dismissed for deserting his workplace.
He said the provincial police chief was told to take harsh measures against the four police personnel and process their case in accordance with the law.
Aryo said that according to the police investigation, the four suspects were drug dealers and the police were still investigating their syndicate in the city.
