4 teens arrested for stealing motorcycles

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested four teenagers for suspected involvement in theft of motorcycles in Choa Chu Kang.

The police said that officers conducted a check on two youths, both 17, loitering suspiciously near a motorcycle in Choa Chu Kang Grove today (Aug 14). The two were arrested subsequently as the officers believed that they had stolen the motorcycle earlier at a nearby carpark.

Officers then spotted another two youths, aged 16 and 17, riding motorcycles in the area and interviewed them. The two were also arrested as the two motorcyces were also believed to be stolen.

The four youths will be charged in court tomorrow, the police said. If convicted, they can be jailed up to seven years and fined.
