Lim Hou Peng Jackson, 40, was charged in court with the murder of a Vietnamese woman in an Ang Mo Kio flat.

SINGAPORE - Lim Hou Peng Jackson was charged in court this morning for the murder of Tran Cam Ny, a 32-year-old Vietnamese woman, The Straits Times reported.

According to The Straits Times, the 40-year-old Singaporean was dressed in a dark T-shirt and appeared solemn, and will also be remanded for psychiatric investigation.

He will appear in court again on Dec 12.

It was previously reported that Lim was arrested on Nov 20, after the Vietnamese woman was found dead in an Ang Mo Kio flat.

He was seen with abrasions on his left cheek and forehead.

The police said that no weapons were found and no other suspects were identified or arrested.

According to neighbours interviewed by Shin Min Daily News, it is understood that Lim is a pimp who frequented Geylang Lorong 21.

The neighbours added that Lim, whom they know as "Jack", could be seen bringing home sexily dressed women of "Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai and Myanmar" descent in the early hours of the morning to his flat.

If convicted, Lim could face the death penalty or life imprisonment, and is liable for caning.
