42-year-old man arrested for slashing woman, 26, with penknife at Geylang

A 42-year-old man was arrested for slashing a 26-year-old woman in Geylang on Saturday night (Sep 9).

Responding to media queries by Stomp, the police said they received a request for assistance at 340 Geylang Road at 11.23pm.

The man was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon, while the woman was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).

Stomp understands that he had used a penknife to slash his victim's face and back. The two of them knew each other.

Community group Crime Library Singapore posted Facebook photos of the scene as well as a picture showing the woman's facial wound.

According to the post, a witness saw six police cars, two ambulances and a crime scene investigation vehicle at Geylang Lorong 18.

"She was suddenly attacked and brutally slashed from the back and on the face," added the post.

Police investigations are ongoing.
