52,000 visitors flock to STJobs career fair

The STJobs Career and Development Fair held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre over the weekend attracted some 52,000 visitors.

The two-day annual event organised by career portal STJobs is one of the biggest career fairs in Singapore, with 200 employers from 16 industries participating.

They include DBS Bank, IT manufacturer Western Digital and apparel retailer company Jay Gee Melwani.

More than 2,000 jobs were on offer.

Visitors were shown the new look STJobs.sg, which now allows users to personalise their homepage.

Employer representatives at the fair, such as PSB Academy vice-president of marketing and communications Amy Tee, said previous editions of the fair had helped create "greater awareness for our brand and suite of programmes".

Ms Joyce Goh, division director of recruitment firm BGC Group, said: "The advertising and promotional efforts created more awareness and attracted more crowds as well."

The fair, held for Singaporeans, permanent residents and foreigners holding valid work or student passes, ended on Sunday.
