87 drug suspects arrested in 6-day operation

SINGAPORE - 87 suspected drug offenders were arrested over six days by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for various drug offences.

The drugs seized from Oct 19 to 25 included about 321.44g of heroin, 77.31g of ‘Ice’, 5.1g of cannabis, 10 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, 60 Erimin-5 tablets and 5.25g of ketamine, according to a statement by the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

The areas covered in the operation were West Coast, Boon Lay, Bukit Batok, Jurong West, Ghim Moh Road, Marsiling, Lower Delta Road, Canberra Road, Balestier, Bishan and Toa Payoh.

The 87 who were nabbed included a suspected male drug trafficker, who was arrested in North Bridge Road.

According to SPF, CNB officers observed two drug abusers visiting the suspect. Upon the arrest of the 60-year-old Singaporean, about 2.15g of ‘Ice’, about 82.8g of heroin and some drug paraphernalia were recovered.

Investigations on all the suspects are ongoing.
