Agassi will play in Singapore next week for Hope Fundraiser

SINGAPORE - Tennis star Andre Agassi will participate in the DBS Singapore Slammers Rally for Hope charity fundraising initiative when he attends the inaugural Coca-Cola International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) in Singapore next week.

Frenchman Gael Monfils and world number 5 Ana Ivanovic will join him at the fundraiser next week.

Members of the public who pledge to donate a minimum of $100 to the Rainbow Centre, will get a chance to rally with the players. The top 120 pledges will be invited to make their donation before their meeting with Agassi, Monfils or Ivanovic which will be from 11 am to 12.30 pm on Dec 3 at the Winchester Tennis Arena.

These invited donors will also receive a Kiehl's Goodie Bag worth $50.

The IPTL tennis tournament will feature a total of 21 Grand Slam Champions and 14 current and former World Number Ones. The winning team will receive the IPTL challenge trophy and a grand prize of US$1 million (S$1.3 million).

Unlike conventional matches, there will be a DJ spinning live music and spectators will be allowed to cheer for their favourite teams during the competition.

The tournament will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from Dec 2-4 with two 3-hour competition segments each day starting at 4pm and 7.30pm respectively.
