Alleged thief beaten up after getting caught by crowd in Malaysia

A suspected snatch thief was caught by a group of citizens, who meted out some vigilante justice by severely beating him.

The man, together with another suspected thief, were seen snatching a woman's handbag, before they were chased by a group of men in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The suspects later abandoned their motorcycle near a RHB bank branch along Jalan Bestari 2/2, reported the Malaysian Crime Awareness Campaign Facebook page.

The two suspects then tried to escape, and were spotted running towards another road, where they attempted to hijacked an elderly man's motorcycle.

But their attempt was foiled by a group of citizens who had chased after the suspects.

While one of the suspect managed to escape, the other suspect was caught.

In the video, he is seen lying topless on the ground with his hands tied-up, as he is repeatedly kicked and beaten with a helmet by the enraged citizens.

The suspect was later handed arrested and handed over to the police for further investigations.
