A series of scams involving messaging app LINE seems to be on the rise lately - and some 'victims' are having fun outsmarting the hackers instead.
A Stomp contributor sent in his friend's conversation with a scammer, who had hacked into another friend's LINE account and asked him to help buy iTunes gift cards.
He did 'buy' a total of five iTunes gift cards, but the codes were probably not what the hacker expected.
See what the 'codes' he gave were in the gallery below.
This is not the first case of LINE scams, though LINE users are now more vigilant after numerous users have encountered these hackers.
Back in July this year, a man was cheated of $2,250 worth of iTunes gift cards, which he thought his "friend" had asked him to purchase but turned out to be a scam.
