Another student sexually attacked in Malacca by intruder

MALACCA - An 18-year-old student, who checked into a hotel as she had returned late from her home town in Negri Sembilan, has alleged that a stranger intruded into her room and molested her.

It was the third case of criminal intrusion reported here in barely a week, after a Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student was brutally attacked at her rented apartment on Sept 10.

The next day, a hotel worker reported that an intruder entered her hostel room and threatened to rape and rob her.

In the latest case, the victim, also a UiTM student, alleged an intruder sexually asssaulted her after gaining entry into her hotel room in Kuala Sungai Baru in Alor Gajah at around 11pm on Sunday.

In her police report lodged at around midnight, the student said she had checked into the hotel after returning late from her hometown in Rompin as she could not enter the campus due to security reasons.

She alleged she had dozed off after checking into the hotel at 10.30pm. She was rudely awakened when she felt someone touching her body.

The student claimed she put up a fight but was overpowered by the intruder.

Just then there was a knock on the door and the intruder hastily fled through the window.

She sought the help of a hotel worker to lodge a police report.

State CID chief Asst Comm Raja Sharom Raja Abdullah said they were investigating the latest report.

Police were looking at various angles, he added, including whether the perpetrator was a hotel worker or a boyfriend of the victim.
