Arrested thief in Malaysia show how easy it is to break into a car

A shocking video filmed in Malaysia shows how easy it is for a thief to break into a car using an On Board Diagnostics port.

The video has recently gone viral, and has become a talking point among netizens after being featured on the Malaysian Crime Awareness Campaign Facebook page.

It shows an arrested thief explaining how to disarm a car immobiliser.

The guy first uses the device and key to get past the alarm and open the door.

He then puts the key into the keyhole, and pulls out a power cable from below the dashboard.

After this, he plugs the device in and looks for the car model.

After finding the correct model, the device gives a few prompts and instructions on how to get past the on board diagnostic security measures.

After following these steps, the thief is able to disarm the immobilser and start the engine, meaning it is now ready to be driven away.
