Artists pay tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew

In their own distinctive styles, local and international artists have immortalised Mr Lee on canvas - from renowned Singaporean name Tan Swie Hian's poignant painting of a young Mr and Mrs Lee Kuan Yew at Cambridge in 1946 to a colourful acrylic portrait by Russian street artist Vitaly Rusakov.

Singapore art collector Vincent Chua is also launching an exhibition this week featuring 300 paintings, which includes nearly 80 portraits of Mr Lee.

Mr Chua had wanted to hold the exhibition in August to coincide with the nation's SG50 celebrations, but decided to bring it forward as a tribute to Mr Lee.
