Back in the net for contest

Some 1.8 tonnes of fish, set to be used in a fishing competition on Aug 9, were unloaded into floating nets in the Pasir Ris Fishing Pond yesterday.

It took workers more than one hour to fill the nets with the five species: sea bass, grouper, red snapper, giant trevally and East Asian fourfinger threadfin.

Fishing enthusiasts taking part in the competition can look forward to angling for two giant groupers that weigh up to 50kg. Located at 90 Pasir Ris Central Fishing Pond, the pond will be offering free fishing on July 31, before it officially opens on National Day.
