SINGAPORE - Civil servants and politicians should be simple and direct when communicating with the public, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on June 17. In a Facebook post, he told of how he had sent his colleagues an article by Financial Times columnist Lucy Kellaway bemoaning tech giant Apple's use of "business gibberish".
Mr Lee said the article is a reminder to them to be "simple and direct" in "informal conversation, a speech, or a press statement".
"Avoid management speak or big words which will not impress anyone," he advised.
"Use simple language which people can understand."
