An Indonesian woman had boiling oil splashed on her when she refused to give food to a beggar at a hawker stall where she worked.
China Press reported that Sofia Batrisya, 30, was taking orders from customers when a man, believed to be a drug addict, asked for food at about 3.30pm on Saturday.
When she brushed him off, the man ran amok and reached for hot cooking oil from the stall and splashed the woman.
Horrified customers subdued him before handing him to the police.
The incident, which took place at a food court of a shopping complex in Petaling Jaya, caused 14 per cent burns on the woman's body.
