The body of a boat owner who went down with his vessel was recovered on Saturday, after more than 60 hours in the sea.

In the accident on Thursday morning, the boat sank about 6km off the coast, in the area between Pulau Bukom and Sentosa, Shin Min Daily News said.

The owner of the boat, Tan Eng Hin, 58, had been delivering metals and other goods at sea for three decades.

On the day of the sinking, there was another crew member on the boat, but he managed to escape.

Mr Tan's wife was informed of his death at 7am on Thursday.

The body was already highly decomposed. It will be cremated today.
