A middle-aged nun, believed to be an impostor, has been seen asking for donations from the public at Taman Tangkak Jaya in Johor, reported Guang Ming Daily.
A resident spotted the bogus nun, whose hair was covered underneath a beanie, carrying a note pad in a black sack, asking for donations in a strong Chinese accent around noon on Tuesday.
She reportedly claimed that she was from a cave temple in Perak and was raising funds for orphans living at the temple.
A shop owner said that he told her that he had not heard about nuns raising funds in Malaysia, and that he wanted to find out more about the temple before making any donation. She quickly left, said the shop owner.
