'Bombing' Mission accomplished

Fighter jets from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) successfully conducted a live drop of a GBU-49 laser-guided bomb.

The feat was achieved during a three-week exercise codenamed Pitch Black, which is held near Darwin, Australia, in which up to 100 aircraft and 2,300 personnel from seven countries are testing their air combat skills.

The RSAF sent about 300 personnel, six F-15SG and eight F-16 fighters, a Gulfstream Airborne Early Warning aircraft and a KC-135R air-to-air refuelling aircraft.
