Boy, 14, dies after fainting in bus

A 14-year-old boy who fainted in the bus on his way to school yesterday has died, Chinese-language newspapers reported.

According to reports in Shin Min Daily News and Lianhe Wanbao, the Clementi Woods Secondary School student was on his way to school after breakfast at home, taking bus service 189.

The boy, Brian Lim, fainted in the bus after vomiting at about 7am, when the bus was in Clementi Avenue 6.

According to his father, Mr Alvin Lim, two bus commuters had performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the boy until the ambulance arrived.

Mr Lim said that Brian had not been ill.

Brian did not regain consciousness even after surgery, and died at about 6pm yesterday.

Mr Lim is the chief executive officer of Bizlink, a non-profit organisation that provides employment services for disadvantaged and disabled people.
